"Heaven"收录于Emeli Sandé的首张专辑《Our Version of Events》中，在2011年8月12日作为专辑首支打榜单曲面市发行。单曲灵感是来自于Emeli与制作人Naughty Boy的一番话。在当今时代，什么都变化的很快。现在的人受了太多影响，也有很多管道去做自己的事，这在Emeli和Naughty Boy那个时代是很困难的。而Naughty Boy觉得其实我们只是保持心灵纯净就一切OK了，就是这样的对话让Emeli和Naughty Boy在半小时内就写好这首歌。这也是他们为专辑写好的第一首歌曲，并且交由Kylie Minogue的制作人Mike Spencer制作。

英国独立歌手艾梅丽·桑德(Emeli Sandé)在第32届全英音乐奖(The Brit Awards)提名音乐晚上，拿下今年的“乐评人选择奖(Critics’ Choice)”。还将入围全英音乐奖的英国最具突破艺人大奖，继续与英国新晋人气才子艾德·希兰(Ed Sheeran)、英国歌手Anna Calvi、英国独立摇滚乐队The Vaccines以及英国当红歌手Jessie J一较高下。据悉，这次艾梅丽发行的新专辑，将收录多首自创单曲其中包括：《Heaven》、《Daddy》以及《Next To Me》。而早前在遭到泄露流传在网络上《Clown》、《River》、《Suitcase》以及和英国RAP天王Professor Green合唱的《Read All About It Part III》也名列其中。而早前，艾梅丽曾在采访中提到这张全新专辑《Our Version of Events》并回应道：“这张专辑将是我对过去三年对音乐的新见解，我期待乐迷对它的反应。因为乐迷永远会最真实的表现出来，是不是好的，经过他们的考验就能知道。而我会将这张专辑看做对自己的一个反省。
