“Invictus”（拉丁语意为“不可征服）”是威廉·亨利最著名的一首诗，写于1875年，出版于1888年。原来这首诗并没有题目，在出版时由编辑加了Invictus 的题目。该诗被列入牛津英语诗歌集（The Oxford Book of English Verse）。据说曼德拉被囚禁于罗本岛时，就经常背诵这首诗，以达到激励斗志、坚定信仰的目的。

作者简介

威廉·亨利（William Ernest Henley）出生在格罗斯特（Gloucester）。12岁时，亨利患上了结核骨，导致后来他的左腿膝盖以下截肢，不得不使用拐杖蹒跚而行。他一生都奋力和病魔抗争，不向命运屈服。他通过自己的作品推动现实主义创作，反对颓废思想。
