让世界了解中国CityWeekend(城市周刊)是一本提供给在中国生活与工作的外国人阅读的杂志，主要包含了北京、上海、广州三个城市的工作生活等资讯新闻。腾讯其集成到了QQ国际版中，让国外用户可以轻松的获取相关的资讯内容，更好的了解中国。QQ国际版的主界面与QQ国内版的相差不大，只是在侧边栏中多了几个工具，快速启动栏里的工具也有不同。QQ国际版同样支持快捷的更换皮肤操作，并自带了多款与QQ国内版不同的皮肤界面。QQ国际版在登陆后同样会默认显示“迷你首页（我的资讯）”，与QQ国内版不同的是，QQ国际版的“迷你首页”里的资讯内容全都是英文版的，而且资讯内容也是给国外用户特别定制的。相关资讯面板分别是“QQInternational（QQ国际版相关内容）”、“ChinaDaily（中国新闻相关内容）”、“QQiPersonals（QQi交友）”、“CityWeekend（城市周刊）”、“eChinaCities（中国城市资讯）”、“Ctrip（携程网）”。丰富的资讯内容使得这个迷你首页也较为实用起来，与QQ国内版迷你首页不同的是，QQ国际版用户可以在迷你首页右下角选择在5天内不自动弹出迷你首页。QQ国际版的聊天对话框与QQ国内版的差不多，视频/音频聊天、文件传输（离线传输）、远程协助、发送图片、QQ表情等实用聊天功能一应俱全，最大的不同在于QQ国际版的聊天对话框中没有任何广告，这不知道是腾讯还没打算对QQ国际版进行“招商引资”，还是腾讯对外国用户特别照顾。而QQ国际版的群聊窗口精简了多少功能，只保留了基本的群设置按钮，实用的群共享、群相册等功能都没有加入。QQ国际版的迷你资料卡中只保留了用户昵称、QQ号码、个性签名、级别的信息，好友印象及某些网友很喜欢的QQ服务图标则都没有显示。

和外国人聊天，难免会遇上不认识的外文，而外国人和你聊天也难免遇上不认识的中文，这时，翻译工具作为沟通的桥梁就显得格外重要了。QQ国际版自带了3款不同的翻译工具，分别是QQ自己提供的“QQTranslator”工具、WordReference提供的“Dictionaries”工具、Nciku提供的“手写翻译”工具，有了这些翻译工具的帮忙，与外国人沟通起来也就会更顺畅一些。

英文版独立聊天群面板

QQ国际版的侧边栏中有个独立的“Groups”工具，点击进去里边是各种英文分类的QQ聊天群，默认划分为了（个人、夜生活、旅行、商业、语言、团体、音乐）这七大分类，各分类下是网友们所建立的聊天群。用户需要加入的话，只需要点击各聊天群下边的“Joinnow”按钮，然后就可以像加入普通群那样提交入群申请了。

这个“Groups”工具只是把群分类功能整合到了QQ面板中，各个英文聊天群其实也可以在QQ国内版的群搜索中查找到。不过这样的分类方法确实方便了用户查找并加入自己感兴趣的群中参与讨论。

简化版交友网站

茫茫网海中如何找到一个与自己趣味相投的网友呢？许多网友选择了在各种各样的交友网站中寻找。QQ国际版自带了一个QQi交友工具，用户可以根据“语言、居住地、年龄、性别”这几个条件来筛选查找适合自己的网友，可惜的是搜索条件中没有“兴趣爱好”等的搜索条件。

世界时钟

不用计算国际时间来帮忙

与国外的网友聊天，可要注意一下他们所在的时区，可别犯了人家那边是晚上，你却和他说“Goodmorning”的尴尬。QQ国际版为用户提供了世界时钟，用户可以自由定义添加任意国家或者地区的时钟显示，方便用户查看与对照世界各地不同城市或地区的准确时间，这样就不必总是心算着对方那边是啥时辰了。

“股市”功能

QQ国际版还为用户提供了“股市”功能，用户可以实时查看沪深、港股及美股的实时行情，非常方便炒股人士。

反馈工具

QQ国际版还带有一个反馈工具（feedback）用户可以通过它快速的向腾讯反馈使用QQ国际版所遇到的问题。

此外，QQ国际版还提供了许多附加功能模块，用户可以在界面管理器（UIManger）中自行添加或删除功能模块，这里就不一一介绍了。留意到其中还有日文的功能模块，可惜笔者不懂日文。

VOIP功能

2014年7月又进行了比较大的功能更新，引入了 VoIP 通话功能，手机版 QQ International（iOS/Android）用户，可以直接拨打全球的手机号码和固定电话，但仅限于海外（IP 地址）用户

手机版 QQ International 的 VoIP 电话功能并不是免费的，而是提供一定时间的免费通话，随后就需要进行充值付费了，但整体核算下来，比打国际长途划算不少。除了多国语言翻译、VoIp 通过功能外，QQ International 的整个设计风格更加简洁，也去掉了很多所谓的 VIP 功能，如不支持贴图表情、不支持游戏和阅读，也没有引入服务中心。
